Jewellery Box in Oak and Burr Walnut
The lid of this piece features a pattern known as Cairo pentagonal tiling. All the pieces are cut from the same sheet of burr walnut veneer, with the changes in colour and grain direction highlighting the individual tiles. The box is made from quarter-sawn oak sourced from the Scottish Borders. It features a matching lift-out tray with mahogany dividers for storage of smaller pieces, while the space underneath is open to accommodate larger items.
